Generation NOW is all about recognizing that  living for Jesus isn'’t just a Sunday morning or Wednesday night thing– it’s an every day, every moment of our life thing.  Following Jesus is an exciting adventure that should be a part of everything we think, say and do.

As we come to together, it is our desire that every student feels accepted and welcomed, part of a safe and loving family. They will be encouraged and challenged to examine who they are and who the Lord desires them to be. They will be given the tools to study God’s Word and see how it applies to their lives. As they grow in their faith, they will also be given opportunities to share all that Jesus means to them with the world around them.

Middle School & High School Groups

Currently our High School (9-12th grade) students meet every Wednesday night, while our Middle School (6-8th grade) group meets on Sundays. Both go from 6:30 to about 8 p.m. The Youth Room is open at 6 p.m. each night for pool, video games, foosball and more. It’s our desire that the church facility & Youth Room be an inviting, friendly environment that youth are excited to come to and bring their friends. We hope to love one another as Christ loves us, that His joy may be in us, and made complete!

Group Nights

For both our Middle School & High School, we get together weekly to dig into God’s word, giving the students skills to study the Word, not only in our meeting times, but on their own. We encourage them to ask their questions and find answers in the Word. The Scriptures are shared in a fun, attainable way, so that students not only gain knowledge, but learn how to apply what they’ve learned. Also during our Sunday & Wednesday nights, we have times of fun & worship. Game nights & celebrations are intended as a way for students to bring non-churched friends into a comfortable environment, and let them see that following Jesus is full of excitement and joy! We also want to connect our hearts to the Lord’s through times of praise, worship and prayer. Whether it’s our youth worship band leading us, or a reflective time of seeking God together in prayer, we desire to recognize Him as Lord, Father, Savior and Friend.

Retreats & Outings

Through special times of fun, worship & study offered in the unique environments of retreats & outings, we hope to grow closer to one another and to the Lord. Whether it’s Fall Fling at Camp Shamineau, or simply a guys’ or girls’ night at the church, we try to get together in these fun settings at least once a quarter. Through gifts from the congregation and fundraising efforts, we attempt to make these events open and available to every student.

Service & Outreach

We want to live a faith that is alive and active in our community. A faith that responds to Christ’s calling us to reach the world with the Good News. A faith that reaches out to those in need with tangible acts of kindness and love. Simple things such as raking a lawn, shoveling snow or passing out plates of Christmas cookies can open doors into people’s lives. Jesus has freely given of Himself to us, and we want to freely give of ourselves to help others. We also need to be equipped to communicate the Good News and our personal stories of how Jesus has given us new life. We want to take full advantage of opportunities to plant the seeds, as well as harvesting the fruit the Lord has prepared.

Sunday School

During the school year, we meet at 9:15 a.m. on Sundays for our Youth Sunday School. This is a time of Bible study and application. Through video, drama, group discussion and other unique formats, we desire to communicate Truth, while allowing students the opportunity to ask questions and talk about real life issues. For our faith to be real and fruitful, it needs to be more than just knowledge in our heads, but instead it needs to be reality in our hearts.

The J.O.Y. Team

Generation NOW is a collective effort of many adults & students working together. From the Senior & Youth Pastors, to adult volunteers & parents, along with mature students, what happens during our groups comes together because each, as a member of the body of Christ, is working to serve one another. The J.O.Y. Team (Jesus Overflowing in Youth) is a group of adults that work together to bless the students we minister to. They may drive students to meetings, run small group discussions, lead worship, formally mentor, or just hang out & get to know the youth. They lead by setting an example in their love for Christ & their desire to grow closer to Him.

If you are interested in becoming a part of the J.O.Y. Team, please contact Dan Ford.
